Confederate Artifact Preservation

When a historical artifact is gone, it’s gone forever. What is an artifact? Flags, uniforms, letters, diaries, weapons, pretty much anything that was owned or used by the Veterans themselves. As with most things today, the cost of maintaining these items is not cheap. Many museums and government departments simply don’t have the funds to properly preserve many of these items. The Mississippi Division works with multiple museums and historical preservation entities, including the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, to preserve these items. In fact, the Mississippi Division SCV has donated almost half a million dollars to MDAH that has been used to preserve 30 Confederate flags.
