Confederate Monuments

After the War for Southern Independence, cities and towns across the South began raising money to erect monuments to Confederate Veterans. In recent years, the media and many people have twisted the truth behind why these monuments were commissioned. The Mississippi Division recognizes that what Confederate Monuments really are, is memorials to those who fought to defend hearth and home. As such, not only do we fight to protect our monuments and educate the public on their true meaning, but we also work to raise new monuments so that future generations will remember and honor those who gave their lives for Mississippi.
